Hikes and expeditions
Hikes and expeditions organized by our expert guides, where you will get to know the whole area, surrounded by abundant vegetation and colorful exotic animals that will surprise you every day.
The province of Napo has a number of natural attractions, in this excursion you will have the opportunity to take a walking tour in the middle of the exuberant jungle vegetation that will take you to a beautiful natural viewpoint of the Napo River and then go down to its shore and enjoy its warm waters, in the afternoon you can take a refreshing swim in the natural pools of the area. Within these daily nature tours we also offer hikes for the observation of fauna and flora such as birds, monkeys, caimans and countless insects, as well as orchids.
Indigenous communities
You will interact with our indigenous communities to learn about their culture, language, food, community projects and customs.
There are several community projects in the area, rich in culture and traditions, in this tour you will learn more about the Kichwa worldview, their language and lifestyle by sharing a day with the women who manage these projects, they will make you participate in the preparation of their traditional dish known as “maito”, you can taste their traditional drinks such as chicha de yuca and guayusada, they will also share with you their ancestral knowledge, music, dance and legends such as the “Sacred Stone”.
River and natural pools
An intense day of tubing and floating for those who prefer more relaxed days.
Misahualli is the ideal place for the practice of several adventure sports In this tour we offer you a day full of adrenaline on the Jatunyacu River (Alto Napo), for the connoisseurs, this is a category III river ideal for any type of person, with or without experience, in its journey you can enjoy exciting rapids and calm water pools, from where you can appreciate the jungle landscape on the banks of the river, this activity is done under all security measures, with the proper equipment and specialized personnel in this practice.

Walk in primary forest to the Napo River, which you will be able to observe from a unique natural viewpoint. Visit a Kichwa community, where you can share the ancestral customs of its inhabitants and learn all you can about the most primitive inhabitants that exist on the planet. We offer you a harmonious experience with a Kichwa chocolate massage that will awaken your senses, due to the relaxing, slimming and firming properties of chocolate.

200 meters to the right, across the bridge from Puerto Misahualli, 30 minutes from Tena, Napo province, Ecuador.
How to get there
By bus from Quito: There is a direct bus Quito-Misahualli of the Amazonas cooperative that leaves every day at 11:30 am from the Quitumbe terminal, the trip takes approximately 6 hours and the price is $9. You can also take any bus to Tena ($8) and from there take a bus Tena - Misahualli ($1) that leaves every 45-60 minutes. The cooperatives that work on this route are Centinela del Tena and Jumandy.
By car from Quito: Take the road to Papallacta - Baeza and continue to the town of Tena, take the road to Misahualli. From the center of Misahualli, cross the bridge over the Napo River, after 200 meters on the right hand side you will arrive at Ama Ecolodge.
